Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammaplasty)

Women with large, heavy breasts can be greatly helped by breast reduction surgery, known as reduction mammoplasty.

An improvement in the breast shape and nipple position can also be achieved through this surgery, restoring a more youthful appearance and improving self confidence and the ability to re-engage with many physical activities.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

A mastopexy involves lifting the breast tissue and the position of the nipple. This is usually without a significant reduction in volume compared to a breast reduction. Occasionally fat/volume is often required especially in the cleavage line and to increase projection. Volume loss and dropping of the breasts (or ptosis) may occur after significant weight loss, pregnancy and breast feeding.

Patients can obtain volume in the form of a breast implant or fat transfer at the time of a mastopexy procedure.

Breast Enlargement (Augmentation Mammaplasty)

For some women, small breasts do not fit with their ideal figure, and they seek to have breast enlargement surgery, known as augmentation mammoplasty. This is achieved through the insertion of silicone breast implants or occasionally their own fat.

Over-filling and unnatural augmentation is not recommended as the skin and soft tissues can be stretched beyond their capacity.

Breast augmentation can also be a reconstructive procedure as part of a woman’s reconstructive journey.

Auto augmentation or using your own fat to enhance your breast volume may also be possible for the right patient. Dr Chopra has experience working overseas in world-class institutions that provide this service.

Gynaecomastia (Male Breast)

Male breast tissue can occur for a variety of reasons, and is often consider normal around puberty,  Should it persist or occur for another reason, then surgery to remove  the breast tissue can be considered.  This is done through a combination of liposuction and direct excision, usually through a small incision around the areola.
